Unfortunately, due to low interest in this year’s Go Blue Gala, we have made the very difficult decision to cancel the event.
We understand the disappointment this decision may cause. Therefore, we are giving all ticketholders the opportunity to request a full refund of their ticket purchase. As many people know, the Gala is the principal fundraiser for the Club’s need-based scholarship fund. Each year, the Club awards money from the fund to Chicago-area students to help them attend the University of Michigan. Any revenue from tickets not refunded will go directly to the Club’s need-based scholarship fund and those ticketholders will still receive tax documentation from AAUM confirming their charitable contribution. We ask that you please consider this option given the unprecedented times or consider donating to the Club’s scholarship fund by visiting Leaders & Best: Michigan Online Giving.
To request a refund, please email Michael Chropowicz at email@example.com no later than 5:00 pm CST on February 18, 2022. Ticketholders who do not timely request a refund will be unable to later request a refund of any ticket purchases.
Our annual Go Blue Gala attracts hundreds of University of Michigan alumni and fans who look forward to celebrating all things “Michigan” over dinner and cocktails and has historically featured notable alumni VIP guests, such as Super Bowl MVP and Heisman Trophy winner Desmond Howard and legendary NHL and NCAA hockey Hall of Famer Red Berenson. The net proceeds that we raise at this annual event will benefit our need-based scholarship fund for Chicago-area students seeking to attend the University of Michigan. We hope that you will join us in our mission in providing educational opportunities for deserving students in our community. Come show your Wolverine spirit by participating in the silent auction, dancing the night away, and joining in a rousing rendition of The Victors.

Stay tuned for future announcements!
The U of M Club of Greater Chicago is comprised of more than 25,000 U-M alumni living in the Chicago area. We host a diverse calendar of social, educational, professional, cultural, athletic, and community service events and programs throughout the year designed to bring the Maize & Blue spirit to Chicago and give you the opportunity to share your U-M pride with other local alumni. Proceeds from certain events fund UMCGC’s scholarship program, which benefits current and future U-M students from the Chicago area. Over the past few years, the club has received numerous awards, including being honored as the Alumni Association’s Outstanding Metro Club of the Year in 2015 and 2016.
